SENIOR MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR - HEADQUARTERS 40 HOURS PER WEEK - FULL-TIME
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Senior Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support and advance the Library's marketing and communications efforts. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with experience developing engaging content, coordinating multi-channel marketing campaigns, and promoting programs and services to diverse audiences.

ABOUT THE POSITION: Under general direction of the Communications Director, the Senior Marketing & Communications Coordinator plans, develops, coordinates, and oversees a wide variety of digital and print marketing and communications activities that promote library programs, services, resources, and initiatives. This position provides excellent customer service while creating and coordinating content across multiple platforms, including social media, email marketing, websites, radio, exterior communications, press releases, publications, and other promotional materials. The position collaborates closely with library staff to develop effective messaging, strengthen community engagement, support brand consistency, and ensure communications are accessible, timely, and impactful.

SENIOR MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR Represented
DEFINITION Under direction from the Communications Director, provides excellent customer service, plans, develops, and oversees a variety of digital and print marketing and communications activities, including email, social media, radio, website content, exterior communications, and press releases; may direct, schedule, train, develop, and review work of other marketing staff, including Marketing Specialists; performs other work as required, including consultation with library administration regarding communications topics.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives general direction from the Communications Director. This is not a supervisory class. Incumbent may provide technical direction and training to technical and clerical staff.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS This is the advanced-journey level marketing and communications classification. Responsibilities include working with library teams to develop a variety of digital and print marketing materials to promote library programs and services while adhering to the library's social media, email, and web writing style guidelines.
Successful performance in the position requires the use of tact, discretion, creativity, judgment, knowledge of print, broadcast,email and social media marketing platforms and tools, and an understanding of library marketing practices.
This position is distinguished from the Marketing Specialist position by its responsibility to direct, schedule, train, develop, and review the work of other marketing and communications staff.
This position is distinguished from the Communications Director by its focus on the ongoing activities of library marketing and communications, while the latter has responsibility for all marketing communications activities and system-wide initiatives and serves as the library's spokesperson for day-to-day media inquiries; managing crisis and disaster communications; and networking effectively with other public agency information officers throughout the county.

QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education and Experience: Equivalent to bachelor's degree with major coursework in marketing, communications, writing, or a related field; and three (3) years of marketing and/or communications experience, and/or the development of public education programs and materials. Additional years of experience can be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses and Certifications: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must possess mobility to work in a standard office and library setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. This classification primarily works indoors and requires movement between work areas. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve materials and data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Positions in this classification occasionally lift and carry reports, records, and materials that typically weigh less than fifty (50) pounds.
