Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and compassionate nursing care throughout the care continuum.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary; administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; makes referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs.
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication; ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program.
• Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques in a fast-paced pediatric critical care environment.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary care teams.
