Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP specializes in providing comprehensive care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. The role involves supporting diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a fast-paced cardiovascular unit.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer pre- and post-procedure nursing care to cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology patients.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamics during procedures to ensure stability and safety.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with physicians and technical staff to coordinate and execute complex cardiac procedures.
  
  
• 
  Document patient assessments, procedures, and interventions accurately in electronic medical records.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe, clean clinical environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license in the State of Connecticut and maintain current licensure.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of one year current experience in Surgical Cardiology, Critical Care, or PACU.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate ACLS certification and experience with Epic electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Show proficiency in cardiology procedures, with familiarity in moderate sedation and hemodynamic monitoring.
  
  
• 
  Prefer candidate with experience in pre/post-procedure care and peripheral vascular procedures.
  
  
• 
  Enrolled in or possess a BSN degree, with knowledge of emergency staffing and departmental float policies.
