Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:
Providing specialized nursing care within an outpatient oncology clinic, the Oncology Clinic RN supports cancer patients through assessment, treatment, and patient education. The role emphasizes compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments following established protocols.
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond to adverse reactions promptly.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication side effects, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and update patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records, including EPIC.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid state nursing license or compact license at the time of application.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred or obtainable after start.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EHR systems required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle complex patient needs with compassion.
