Test Quality Engineer

@HYVE Solutions, missions to help customers, business partners, and employees achieve success through shared goals, strategies, resources and technology solutions.The Test Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness, reliability, and compliance of product testing processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This role develops and maintains test quality standards, validates test methods and equipment, analyzes test performance data, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesTest Quality ManagementDevelop, implement, and maintain test quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.Ensure manufacturing test processes consistently detect defects and verify product functionality.Review and approve test plans, test specifications, and acceptance criteria.Monitor test process performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Test Process ValidationLead validation and qualification of manufacturing test equipment and automated test systems.Verify test coverage and ensure alignment with product quality requirements.Assess risks associated with test processes and implement appropriate controls.Data Analysis & Continuous ImprovementAnalyze test yield, failure trends, escape rates, false failures, and defect data.Perform statistical analysis to improve test effectiveness and process capability.Lead initiatives to reduce test escapes, improve first-pass yield (FPY), and enhance test reliability.Develop dashboards and quality metrics to monitor test performance.Root Cause Analysis & Corrective ActionsInvestigate test failures and quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.Lead root cause analysis utilizing 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, and DOE techniques.Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Support containment activities and disposition of nonconforming products.Equipment & Test System QualityEnsure test equipment calibration and maintenance requirements are met.Evaluate new test technologies and improvements to existing test systems.Collaborate with Test Engineering teams to optimize test strategies and coverage.Support software and hardware changes affecting manufacturing test systems.Quality Systems & ComplianceEnsure compliance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.Maintain accurate quality records, validation documentation, and test reports.Support change control and risk management activities.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams.Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and production readiness reviews.Provide technical guidance on test quality requirements during product development and manufacturing transfer.EducationBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.Experience5-8 years of experience in test engineering, quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or product validation.Experience with automated test equipment, manufacturing test systems, or product validation processes.Experience in electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.Technical SkillsTest Method ValidationAutomated Test EquipmentStatistical Process Control (SPC)Measurement System Analysis (MSA)Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)Design of Experiments (DOE)PFMEA and Control PlansReliability Testing and Failure AnalysisData Analysis using Excel, Minitab, JMP, SQL, or similar toolsSoft SkillsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication and technical writing abilitiesAbility to work effectively across multiple functionsStrong project management and organizational skillsContinuous improvement mindsetKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)First Pass Yield (FPY)Test Escape RateTest Coverage EffectivenessFalse Failure RateDefect Detection RateCustomer Quality IncidentsCAPA Closure and EffectivenessCompensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $101,000–125,000 annually.Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.@ HYVE Solutions, we believe employees are our greatest asset and we empower them to make a difference in our business.
