Kitchen Manager – High-Volume Breakfast & Lunch Restaurant
At The Diner | Orlando, FL
Salary: $65,000 annually

At The Diner is hiring a proven Kitchen Manager who can take ownership of a busy kitchen, lead by example, and deliver consistent results. We need a hands-on leader who can command the line during a rush, develop skilled cooks, and enforce high standards every shift.

This position requires active involvement in prep, cooking, training, and service. You must be ready to step into any station, address problems immediately, and keep your team organized and accountable.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Own daily kitchen operations: Ensure prep, staffing, station readiness, service, and closing are executed properly.

• Lead from the line: Work alongside your cooks and maintain control of order flow, ticket times, and food quality during high-volume service.

• Build a dependable team: Train, coach, and hold kitchen staff accountable for performance, attendance, teamwork, and consistency.

• Protect our food standards: Enforce recipes, portion sizes, presentation, and cooking temperatures on every plate.

• Control costs: Manage ordering, inventory, stock rotation, food waste, and kitchen labor.

• Enforce cleanliness and food safety: Keep the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean, organized, and inspection-ready.

• Communicate clearly: Coordinate with front-of-house leadership to address delays, mistakes, and guest concerns promptly.

• Solve problems: Anticipate shortages and service bottlenecks, take corrective action, and follow through.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a commercial kitchen.

• Strong leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, preferably breakfast and lunch.

• Proven breakfast cooking skills, including eggs cooked in frying pans, omelets, poached eggs, and Eggs Benedict .

• Ability to oversee and support egg, pancake, fryer, and sandwich stations.

• Experience managing food costs, inventory, ordering, staff schedules, and training.

• Strong organization, sound judgment, and the ability to stay composed under pressure.

• A dependable work ethic and the confidence to enforce standards consistently.

• Food protection manager certification preferred.

Schedule Requirements

Every weekend is required—both Saturday and Sunday. No weekends off. Scheduled days off are during the week. Early-morning and holiday availability is also required.
