A Brief Overview

The Ahuja Stepdown: The Ahuja SDU is a 16 bed surgical and medical intermediate care floor. We care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs who have downgraded from a critical need but still need close monitoring. The team consists of highly skilled nurses, providers, advanced practice nurses, patient care assistants, and other ancillary staff who are dedicated to caring for patients and families. Our Step Down nurses are trained to care for cardiac patients post procedure, such as post heart cath, post ablation, and post cath with TR Band. The team strives to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and families.

Nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 4.

• Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, Pre/Post heart cath, and Ablations
• Vascular surgery
• Thoracic surgery
• Stemi
• Sepsis
• Renal Failure
• Respiratory Failure
• Gastric bleeding
• Overdose
• Alcohol Withdrawal

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
