Registered Nurse - Step Down - Part Time - Nights

A Brief Overview The Ahuja Stepdown: The Ahuja SDU is a 16 bed surgical and medical intermediate care floor. We care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs who have downgraded from a critical need but still need close monitoring. The team consists of highly skilled nurses, providers, advanced practice nurses, patient care assistants, and other ancillary staff who are dedicated to caring for patients and families. Our Step Down nurses are trained to care for cardiac patients post procedure, such as post heart cath, post ablation, and post cath with TR Band. The team strives to provide the highest quality of care to our patients and families. Nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 4. Common Diagnoses Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, Pre/Post heart cath, and Ablations Vascular surgery Thoracic surgery Stemi Sepsis Renal Failure Respiratory Failure Gastric bleeding Overdose Alcohol Withdrawal Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. What You Will Do Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
