Classroom Aide

Teacher’s Aide – Head Start / Early Head Start Union County Community Action, Inc. Work Location – Monroe, Union County NC Starting Rate: Up to $14 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm or 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week) Benefits Eligible employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance through BCBSNC Company-Paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability Insurance 401(k) eligibility after one year of employment Paid Time Off including Annual Leave, Sick Leave, and Holidays Tuition Assistance opportunities Employee Referral Program Professional development and career growth opportunities Meaningful work serving children and families in our community Key Responsibilities Assist teachers with classroom activities and supervision Support children’s developmental and educational needs Help maintain classroom records and documentation Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities Support family engagement and communication Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred Experience working with young children preferred CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain Strong communication and teamwork skills Valid driver’s license required Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings. Physical Demands Must be able to actively assist with classroom activities, supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
