Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide mental health care and support to patients within the Behavioral Health Unit, ensuring safety and effective treatment. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to evaluate patient needs and monitor progress.
Administer medications and manage treatment plans according to established protocols.
Perform routine procedures such as glucose checks, monitoring labs, and using medical equipment.
Observe patient behavior and document clinical observations accurately in the EMR system.
Ensure patient safety by adhering to protocols, including CPI and BLS standards.
Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and families to support emotional well-being and treatment adherence.

Qualifications:

Valid RN license with current certification in BLS.
Minimum two years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
Ability to perform assessments, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and kindness required.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, without on-call responsibilities.
