Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Draeger vent experience for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center
• Part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Will float between Bridgeport Hospital and Milford campuses as needed
• Travelers should expect to rotate through all hospital units including NICU and Pediatric units depending on census and staffing needs
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Acute care experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required
• Draeger vent experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required, with no contracts under 13 weeks
• BLS and CRT or RRT certification required
• State license required if applicable
• CT state license takes 15-21 business days to issue; candidates must apply prior to submission
• NICU experience preferred but not required
• PALS and NRP certifications preferred
• One professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
• May be asked to orientate students or new hires as needed
• Participate in all required hospital modules prior to start and annually
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Free parking available on site
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the hospital
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
