Postdoctoral Researcher - College of Engineering The Marcolongo Lab at Villanova University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to an NIH-supported project examining biomimetic proteoglycans for molecularly engineering connective tissues, including cartilage and disc. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Michele Marcolongo on developing new molecular/biomaterial chemistries to optimize connective tissue repair and regeneration. Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with Dr. Michele Marcolongo on molecular/biomaterial chemistries for connective tissue repair and regeneration. Design and conduct experiments related to biomimetic proteoglycans and tissue engineering. Analyze data and prepare scientific manuscripts and presentations. Actively contribute to the lab’s research goals, early and minimally invasive strategies to mitigate disease progression in connective tissues. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a closely related field. Expertise in polymers from a chemical and characterization perspective is encouraged. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of biomaterial/tissue interactions and gene expression.
