This will include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, maintaining the care of company assets, and communicating professionally with others. They will perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible.Crane Field Service Technician/Mechanic Essential FunctionsCommunicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One GoalPerforms field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervisionDiagnoses and evaluates problems with equipment and makes repairs using established guidelines, following established flat ratesPlans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairsModels safe work habits and abides by all safety policies and procedures alwaysKeeps rework within established guidelinesMakes overnight stays on or near job sites when requiredCompletes required paperwork efficiently and promptlyAttends factory and other training as specified by the supervisorMaintains the service truck in good working condition and cleanlinessCompletes daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspectionsConsistently exhibits professional demeanor with customers, managers, and colleaguesPromotes goodwill with customers and exhibits excellent customer relations behaviorsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedEnsures consistent and reliable on-site attendanceCrane Field Service Technician/Mechanic Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to speak, read, and write in EnglishTwo (2) years of continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing construction equipmentAbility to read complex hydraulic and electrical schematicsFurnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required by the companyAbility to work overtime, stay overnight, and work on the weekend when neededPossess and maintain a valid driver’s license; CDL if requiredCrane Field Service Technician/Mechanic Physical RequirementsPushes/Pulls/Lifts/Carries up to 100 pounds without assistancePhysical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overheadMust be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odorsPhysical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours, with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workdayAbility to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional conditionThis is considered a Safety-Sensitive position.We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
