About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care med-surg oncology and outpatient oncology preferred. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: BLS, OCN preferred. Must-Have: - Experience with chemotherapy administration. - Accessing and managing ports, including central lines. - Monitoring chemotherapy and recognizing abnormal lab values. - Phlebotomy skills. - Ability to care for patients with acute tumor lysis syndrome and sepsis. - Experience in infusion center settings. Description: Candidates must be previous staff members of the facility, but travelers are welcome. No weekends or call requirements are expected. Shifts will be primarily 5x8 with the possibility of 4x9 scheduling. The role requires strong outpatient oncology experience with significant chemotherapy experience. Interdisciplinary support will be available for infusion needs. The daily patient census averages around 30 patients. The unit consists of 12 rooms and beds dedicated to outpatient oncology care. Candidates should be equipped to handle various oncology procedures and special patient needs. References covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required. Education and other module completion will need to be carried out annually, with time self-reported. Completion of modules is mandatory before starting the position.
