• Small, highly collaborative 4-person engineering team currently adding 2 additional engineers
• Very hands-on environment with exposure to all aspects of the product development lifecycle

• Newly expanded 50,000 sq. ft. facility in Wallingford, CT
• 5 days onsite preferred, with some flexibility as needed

The R&D Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in transforming customer and market needs into innovative, production-ready hand tools. Working within a global, cross-functional R&D environment, this individual will support mechanical design activities from concept through industrialization. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on mechanism design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production ramp-up within a manufacturing-driven environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical hand tools from concept through production
• Translate customer and technical requirements into practical engineering solutions
• Create concepts, feasibility studies, and physical prototypes
• Develop detailed drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and engineering documentation
• Perform engineering analysis including FEA, stress analysis, and tolerance stack-ups
• Plan and execute testing and validation activities
• Analyze test results and implement design improvements
• Support quality investigations and root-cause analysis
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and global engineering teams
• Contribute to ongoing product, process, and departmental improvements
