RN - Hospice

Registered Nurse - HospiceProvides coordinated and directed home nursing care according to physician's orders. Utilizes agency policies and procedures through the competent application of the nursing process. Responsible to the Clinical Manager. Directly supervises and evaluates Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses. Conducts home visits and attends periodic office meetings. Must have reliable transportation and current driver's license. Agency-required liability insurance is mandatory. Average number of patients per day is 5-8. Contractor will be assigned between 5-10 patients per day. Each type of visit and activity carries a different point value. Guaranteed hours are not applicable. In case of low patient census, discussions with management are encouraged for floating to a nearby clinic. Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, and Follow-up Visits. Must have recent specialty experience. Weekend requirements vary per location and profession, discussions during interviews are necessary. On-call requirements vary and should be discussed during the interview. Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS standard rate. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Must have active license in hand. Must be proficient in using HCHB and have used it within the last 6 months. All documentation must be completed within 24 hours of patient appointments. Delayed documentation that impacts billing and follow-up care will not be tolerated. There are no guaranteed hours; productivity points need to be met weekly. Travelers should have the capability to manage their caseload effectively.
