Part Time Business Instructor

Position Information Position Title: Part Time Business Instructor Position Category: Faculty Position Status: FLSA Exempt Department: Business Administration Working Hours: Varies General Description SUNY Niagara has a need for part-time instructors to teach various business courses within the Business & STEM division. The Business Instructor is responsible for teaching undergraduate-level courses in supply chain, management, advertising, finance, contracts, sales and marketing, human resources, and organizational management. The instructor will prepare students for success in the dynamic business field by fostering a supportive learning environment, engaging students with diverse learning strategies, and maintaining high academic standards. The instructor will provide leadership, engagement, and discipline expertise and demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence. Remuneration Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $960 per lecture hour. Typical Work Activities Teach course on campus or online. Track attendance as needed. Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester. Report grades at the conclusion of the semester. Attend and participate in meetings as necessary. Essential Functions Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population; ability to speak in front of groups of people; effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus community; develop, prepare and present information; operate computers; and physically perform the duties of the position. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, or a closely related discipline. One (1) year of full‑time (or part‑time equivalent) teaching experience at the post‑secondary level. Strong knowledge of business principles, current industry practices, and practical application in one or more of the specified subject areas. Desirable Qualifications Ph.D. or DBA in Business, Management, or a related discipline. Teaching experience at a community college. Experience using publisher‑based educational technology (or OER) and learning management systems such as Brightspace.
