Radiology Technician

STGi is currently seeking a Radiology Technician to provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The Radiology Technician performs procedures such as conventional plain film radiography, portable radiography, computed radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and operating room radiography. Supports radiologists and clinicians in the performance of these exams; anticipates imaging, and equipment needs before and during the procedure, follows the progress of the procedure and facilitates an efficient flow.

Essential functions include performing examinations of head, trunk and extremities for routine physical examinations and for diagnosis of illness or of injuries of accident victims; performing radiographic procedures using the proper exposure techniques; processing film plates using the CR system; monitoring the examination by checking the computation, performance, and results of the selected parameters; reviewing requests for appropriateness before performing exams; positioning patient according to type of study; reviewing labs, medical history of patient for indications of his/her ability to tolerate the exam and for possible side effects; keeping doors to the x-ray rooms closed during x-ray exposure; identifying radiographs/images with patient's full name and social security number; ensuring compliance with facility privacy policies; ensuring modesty and comfort is observed for each patient; ensuring compliance with infection control standards and practices; keeping the rooms neat, clean, and stocked with supplies; preparing rooms for daily operation; registering patients and answering telephones; repairing film jackets as necessary; and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Current, active, state license.
• Possess BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
• Shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the Government's requirements, to include the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
• Possess current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a "Registered" Diagnostic Radiology Technician (designated as RT (R)).
• Must have exceptional diplomatic communication skills and experience in handling difficult customer situations.
• Must be detailed oriented, and have the ability to multi-task

Required Experience

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology education program.
• A minimum of 12+ months of full-time Diagnostic Radiology Technologist experience in the last 2 years.
• High School diploma or GED.

Working conditions/physical requirements include moderate physical activity, handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day, work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, and required to respond to any medical emergency within the clinic, where a fast walk or jog may be necessary to provide assistance.
