About the Role:

As a cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and producing high-quality meals that meet the standards and expectations of our establishment. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction by ensuring that food is prepared safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team, including the head chef, to maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations. This role requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency in food quality. Ultimately, your contribution will help create a positive dining experience that encourages repeat business and enhances the reputation of our kitchen and restaurant.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen setting.
• Ability to read and speak English to understand recipes, safety instructions, and communicate with team members.
• Manual dexterity and physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and move objects as required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working under the supervision of a head chef or in a similar kitchen role.
• Formal culinary training or certification.
• Familiarity with a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
• Strong teamwork and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist the head chef and kitchen staff with inventory management and stock rotation.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and moving kitchen equipment or supplies.
• Communicate effectively in English with team members to coordinate food production and service.
• Monitor food presentation and portion sizes to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.

Skills:

The required skills such as food preparation and production are essential for daily meal preparation and ensuring quality standards are met consistently. Speaking and reading English enable clear communication with kitchen staff and understanding of recipes and safety protocols.
