The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations within the facility, including equipment reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, facility infrastructure, and technical support for manufacturing operations. This role provides leadership to maintenance personnel while ensuring equipment uptime, safe operations, and efficient use of resources. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for achieving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives by driving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all maintenance department activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and performance.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance technicians to ensure technical competency and accountability.
  • Prioritize and coordinate maintenance activities based on production requirements, equipment criticality, and resource availability.
  • Monitor equipment performance and downtime metrics to identify reliability concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts for production equipment, automation systems, robotics, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support manufacturing objectives and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Establish, monitor, and report departmental KPIs including downtime, maintenance costs, PM completion rates, MTTR, MTBF, labor utilization, and equipment reliability metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventories, and capital improvement projects to ensure effective resource utilization.
  • Support equipment installations, process changes, facility upgrades, and new product launches through proper planning and execution.
  • Ensure maintenance procedures, work instructions, equipment documentation, and PM records are maintained and up to date.
  • Manage external contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements related to maintenance activities.
  • Investigate equipment failures and recurring issues using structured problem-solving methodologies and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Support additional manufacturing operations and special projects as assigned to meet business needs.

Job Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
  • Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs within a high-volume manufacturing operation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment and lead root cause investigations.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, PLC-controlled systems, and industrial machinery.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing maintenance personnel, contractors, budgets, and capital projects.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, and maintenance reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond effectively to changing operational priorities.
