Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit or department during their shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, aiming to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Engages in ongoing assessments of patient care quality in collaboration with the management team.
• Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that enhances outcomes and service.
• Promotes a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
• Contributes to improving employee engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including rounding and other initiatives.
• Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff members.
• Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Oversees inventory control and aids in managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience in a facility of similar size and services is advantageous.
• Prior experience in Oncology, emergency, pre-hospital, or critical care is preferred.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Registered Nurse with an Associate degree is required.
