Director of Emergency Services

About the Position: The incumbent serves as the Director of Emergency Services at a large multi-mission military installation and as such, is the primary responsible manager for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention that encompasses a variety of sensitive and critical garrison wide programs directly affecting the life, health, and safety of all garrison employees, students, family members, retirees, and visitors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing law enforcement, fire protection and physical security programs for an installation or equivalent; developing innovative techniques for providing law enforcement, fire protection, and physical security support to an installation or equivalent; providing guidance and advice to installation leadership on emergency services; and evaluating employee performance regularly to provide constructive feedback on daily tasks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
