PRN Occupational Therapist RTG

Smithfield, Virginia Overview The Occupational Therapist carries out individualized programs for patients with acute and chronic health conditions to maximize their quality of life and achieve functional goals. The therapist also maintains a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff. Responsibilities Perform evaluations, determine OT diagnoses, develop a plan of care, and perform occupational therapy procedures to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, improve health, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Evaluate and assess patients in a timely manner based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence‑based guidelines, and regulatory standards (state & organizational policies, requirements of accrediting bodies, etc.). Assess and document progress for evaluation, billing, and reporting purposes. Advise on adaptive equipment to help patients with daily activities. Build trusting, collaborative relationships with a multidisciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as assigned. Assist and support training of all team members, volunteers, and students. Follow and carry out the treatment plan, modifying it to maximize therapeutic benefit, meet discharge criteria, and return patients to an optimal level of care. Utilize testing results and develop an updated plan of care based on evidence‑based guidelines. Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree, Occupational Therapy (Required) or Masters Degree, Occupational Therapy (Required) or Doctoral Degree, Occupational Therapy (Required) Experience: 1 year Occupational Therapy (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications: Occupational Therapy (OT) – Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Requires upon Hire) Occupational Therapy (OTR) – National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Inc (NBCOT) (Requires upon Hire) CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 days (Required) #J-18808-Ljbffr
