Overview

Position Title: Director, Financial Planning – US Commercial

Reports To: Senior Director, US Controller

The Director, Financial Planning – US Commercial is a key business partner to the Menarini Stemline Oncology business unit commercial organization in the US region. In this role he/she supports the commercial teams by assisting in financial planning processes, timely reporting of financial metrics and insightful analysis to gauge business performance and resource allocation that aligns with organizational priorities

Responsibilities

• Support financial planning activities such as the annual budget,reforecasts and strategic plan with special emphasis on commercial functions under the SVP – US Commercial and SVP, Head – MarketAccess
• Quantifies financial risks and opportunities for top and bottom line against budget
• Works with US commercial teams to bridge demand forecasts into gross-to net sales budget and reforecasts
• Reports on key metrics for financial performance measurement and forecasting accuracy including but not limited to gross-to-net sales, gross, direct and contribution margin
• Understand SAP and can track operational expenses, reporting back to commercial leaders and adjusting accordingly
• Reviews classification of operating expenses to ensure appropriate allocation to product, expense type and cost center
• Tracks and reports on fiscal year commitment levels against activities and materials budgets at a product level and provide training/support as needed to ensure team members are accurately tracking expenses in a timely manner
• Ensures that financial planning submissions comply with Menarini financial reporting requirements
• Works with sales operations and commercial leadership to measure field force goal attainment impact versus budgeted incentive compensation
• Reinforces financial timelines, policies and procedures with assigned Functions
• Guides US commercial functions on the use of the Tagetik planning system to achieve expected utilization levels and assure its successful adoption
• Performs ad-hoc analyses and presents findings to senior finance and commercial management
• Participates in internal cross-functional teams on financial and operational projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required. MBA preferred
• Seven to ten years in a Financial Planning & Analysis function
• Strong customer focus with dedication to quality and willingness to address business critical issues outside normal business hours
• Superior communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel/PowerPoint or Google Sheets/Slides is required
• Familiarity with SAP S4 and CCH Tagetik is a big plus
• Prior experience supporting a commercial organization in a life sciences industry
• Good understanding of health care payor systems and distribution models is a plus
• Prior biopharmaceutical product launch experience will be valued highly
• Strong organizational skills and time management; ability to manage diverse range of simultaneous projects

Base Salary Range of $205,000-$235,000. Menarini Stemline offers generous compensation and benefits packages, including Short- and Long-Term Incentive Programs, Fidelity 401(k) (with company match), Anthem Premier PPO and HDHP insurance plans, Company paid Basic Life & AD&D insurance and pre-tax FSA/HSA programs.

Menarini has made a strong commitment to oncology, investing in a pipeline of five investigational compounds for the treatment of a variety of haematological and solid tumours. The acquisition of Stemline Therapeutics in June 2020, further strengthened Menarini’s oncology portfolio, adding both commercial and clinical-stage assets. Tagraxofusp is a novel, first in class targeted therapy for patients with blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) and to date, the only approved treatment for BPDCN in the U.S. and EU, and the first and only approved CD123-targeted therapy. Tagraxofusp is also being evaluated as both a single agent and in combination, in other CD123+ indications, including acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML), and myelofibrosis (MF).

Additionally, Menarini received exclusive rights to commercialise Selinexor for the treatment of oncology indications in the European Union and other European countries (including the United Kingdom), Latin America and other key countries. Menarini has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Karyopharm Therapeutics for the rights to commercialise an innovative therapeutic option in Europe, Latin America, Turkey, Russia, and CIS countries. Selinexor is a first-in-class, oral Selective Inhibitor of Nuclear export compound for the treatment of hematologic cancers and solid tumours. It is already marketed in the US for multiple myeloma and is under development for solid tumour indications. Selinexor is registered in the EU for both early and late lines.

Menarini entered into a global licence agreement with Radius Health to complete the development of Elacestrant, an oral SERD in late-stage Phase 3 development for hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer. Following a successful phase 3 study, Menarini Stemline received FDA approval in January 2023 under priority review and successfully oversaw a strong launch in February to the US market with the EMA review process concluded positively in September 2023.
