Diverse Staffing is hiring Lumber Yard Warehouse Associates for a wood products manufacturing and distribution facility in Shelbyville, Indiana. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers steady first-shift hours, weekly pay, and the opportunity to develop valuable warehouse, inventory, and material handling experience.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and staying physically active throughout the workday.

Job Duties

• Stock, organize, and stage treated lumber, wood products, and finished materials
• Band, secure, and prepare product bundles for storage and shipment
• Apply labels, tags, and identification markings to inventory
• Assist with inventory organization and material movement throughout the facility
• Inspect products for quality concerns, damage, and shipment readiness
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Must-Have Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor for the entire workday
• Ability to read basic work instructions and product labels
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to work safely in an industrial lumber yard environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience
• Material handling experience
• Forklift experience
• Inventory control experience
• Manufacturing or production experience
• Experience working with lumber, building materials, or outdoor industrial operations

Work Environment

• Industrial lumber yard and warehouse environment
• Work performed both indoors and outdoors
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
• Frequent handling of lumber, treated wood products, and building materials
• Exposure to dust, dirt, mud, and industrial equipment
• Forklift traffic and moving materials throughout the facility
• Fast-paced environment with daily production and shipping goals
• Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and carrying materials
• Stand and walk for the duration of the shift
• Work safely around forklifts, trailers, and material handling equipment
• Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
• Work outdoors for extended periods in changing weather conditions
