Senior Software Engineer

The candidate will become a member of a creative, high‑tempo, collaborative, cross‑functional, dynamic and multi‑disciplinary THAAD interceptor flight software (FSW) team. This team performs the analysis, design, development, and test of the embedded flight software and the real‑time, Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL) missile testbed. Opportunities are available to participate in all elements and steps of the software development cycles. Basic Qualifications Applicable experience in software development, with broad technical skills and development experience throughout a program life cycle. Experience in Object‑Oriented programming and C++. Experience with a scripting language. Experience in embedded software development (multi‑process). US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance. Desired Skills Current DoD Secret clearance. Strong background in Linux and VxWorks operating systems. Strong background in embedded SW architecture. Good communication skills, both oral and written. Experience in software development and testing. Extensive experience in C++ programming. Experience with Python, Perl, XML, shell, etc. Understanding of the intricacies of compiling and linking large software simulations. Security Clearance This position requires a US citizen for consideration and must be able to obtain or maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants should have a current DoD Secret clearance. Work Details Work location: Onsite Full‑time at a designated LockheedMartin facility. Work schedule: 9‑x‑80 schedule with every other Friday off. Alternate schedules such as a condensed 40‑hour work week are supported. Shift: First. Relocation: Possible. Experience Level: Experienced Professional. Business Unit: SPACE. Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and NewYork (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, NewJersey, Vermont, Washington or WashingtonDC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. In most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and NewYork, the range is $107,300 - $185,840. This position is incentive plan eligible.
