Automation Engineer

Level 1 EngineerProgram, test, and commission Level 1 control systems for new installations of Pickle Lines (Rolling Mill Equipment) and other applications in the metals industry. As a Level 1 Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering world-class automation solutions for rolling mill installations across global markets, working within a collaborative engineering team at the forefront of metals industry technology.Willing to travel to support the project work. We offer company events, activities, and opportunities to participate in charitable initiatives that benefit the communities where we are located.What you'll doDesign and implementation of Level 1 control systems based on project requirements, SMS standards and similar reference projectsPerform Level 1 control system programming based on the function descriptions for the equipment related to the projectCollaborate with project management, mechanical, and Level 2 engineering teamsParticipate in integration testing of the control system before shipment to the job siteConduct on site commissioning and startup of Level 1 control systems for new plant installationsTrain customer personnel in maintenance and troubleshootingService existing systems remotely and on-site interfacing with internal engineers and resources from other groups and locationsSupervision received is mostly administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limitsWhat you'll needBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degreeMinimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering role in metals or a similar industryExperience with Programmable Logic ControllersExperience with Logicad and/or Siemens TIA Portal preferredPickle Line and/or Rolling Mill process knowledge preferredWilling to travel to support the project work.
