Territory Manager – Outside Medical Sales Professional

We are seeking a qualified individual for an outside sales position. Medicap Home Medical is Central Iowa’s leading independent provider of Home Respiratory and Home Medical Equipment. We strive to help patients live their life out of the hospital and in their own home.

The successful candidate will be professional, possess excellent communication and follow-up skills, be self-directed, and motivated by developing long-term relationships. 

This individual will call on a variety of healthcare professionals to build lasting relationships, identify and meet the needs of referral sources, provide effective training and education, and increase healthcare referrals. This role’s territory covers a region from the Des Moines metro area to Iowa City and Waterloo.  The home location will be determined upon hire.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

• Perform daily sales calls following a preplanned route to establish new and maintain ongoing business with referral sources in the healthcare community.
• Work with the Sales Manager to develop strategic territory business plans to grow new business
• Promote products and services that Medicap provides to the community
• Educate referral sources on insurance documentation requirements
• Work in uniform with customer service, intake coordinators, billing, branch managers as well as other areas within the Medicap organization to help process referrals and drive growth.
• Generates new referrals, selling products & services required to meet sales quotes for territory. Shares weekly sales plan with Sales Manager.
• Utilizes SalesForce to document daily sales calls.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• A good driving record
• 2+ Years of Sales Experience Preferred, with experience calling on hospitals, physicians, therapists and staff is a plus
• 4 Year Degree is preferred
• Oxygen, PAP, NIV, CRT & DME equipment knowledge is preferred but not required
• Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic and an ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proven history of success in sales
• Must possess effective time management, organizational and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
• Must possess strong computer skills, Microsoft Excel experience required
• CRM SalesForce Experience Preferred

As an accredited company, Medicap Home Medical requires that candidates successfully pass all required preemployment screenings prior to starting employment. These include a criminal background check, OIG Exclusions List screening, and Driving Record Check.
