Physical Therapist - Clinic

WCS Healthcare is partnering with a large organization nonprofit organization The Hudson Valley. We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join a team of interdisciplinary professionals at a clinic located in Kingston, NY.



Job Duties:

• Review doctor referrals and medical records to determine the need for physical therapy treatment.
• Refer individuals to specialty clinics as needed (e.g., adaptive equipment, orthotics, splints, footwear).
• Maintain active and up-to-date medical prescriptions in accordance with NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) regulations, based on assignment.
• Evaluate and assess individuals in the following areas:
  • Sensorimotor function
  • Gross and fine motor skills
  • Musculoskeletal and central nervous system status
  • Ambulation and mobility
  • Adaptive equipment needs (e.g., walkers, canes, AFOs)
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
• Administer therapeutic modalities including hydrotherapy, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist individuals in exercise programs using weights, machines, mats, assistive devices, orthoses, and prostheses.
• Provide training to individuals, caregivers, and staff as needed.
• Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and therapists with limited permits across healthcare centers, day programs, and residential settings.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Current NYS Physical Therapy License.
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques.
• Ability to supervise PTAs and aides effectively.
• Proficient in the use of physical agent modalities and therapeutic exercises.
• Familiarity with mobility devices and adaptive equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
