Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and documentation for all equipment and activities. Promote and enforce a safety‑first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, DOT standards, and internal safety procedures. Conduct safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations, and implement corrective actions when needed. Ensure adherence to Storm Water Protection regulations and other environmental standards during maintenance and operations. Report and manage safety concerns, equipment failures, and operational issues in a timely manner. Supervise, coach, and evaluate team members, including machine operators, mechanics, and traffic control technicians. Address attendance, performance issues, and disciplinary matters in coordination with HR and leadership. Foster a culture of professionalism, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the shop and field operations. Maintain professional working relationships with transportation department representatives and other stakeholders. Serve as the point of contact for on‑site escalations, resolving conflicts, service disruptions, and operational concerns. Support data reporting and communication related to project performance, safety metrics, and regulatory compliance. Perform hands‑on mechanical work on heavy equipment, including diagnostics, repairs, and component replacement. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, including reading and interpreting schematics. Perform electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic troubleshooting, A/C system diagnostics, and basic welding or cutting as needed. Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or during emergencies, to support continuous operations. Comply with all company policies, including a zero‑tolerance drug policy, and complete required safety and traffic incident training. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED.
