Contract | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | 3x12-hour shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 56-bed Adult Medical Specialty unit managing acute care general medicine diagnoses including cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, and behavioral health and addiction cases
• Manage and monitor central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes as part of routine patient care
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips including Heparin and Lasix; titration of drips is not required
• Operate and interpret telemetry via Philips monitors; house-wide telemetry is monitored remotely with RN access to strips via bedside pack or computer
• Collaborate with Patient Care Technicians who assist with vital signs, AccuChecks, bladder scans, and ADLs at a 1:8–10 ratio
• Float as needed to other acute care general medicine areas including nephrology, neuro, orthopedics, and oncology

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification
• Hands-on experience with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Experience in a Medical Surgical setting with a patient ratio of 1:4–5 (days) and 1:5–6 (nights)
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Prior travel nursing experience on a Med/Surg floor
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center (may be considered in lieu of travel experience when combined with EPIC proficiency)
