Personal Banker Associate I - Santa Cruz Main Compensation: Total Base Pay Range $43,680.00 - $69,900.00 USD Annually Location: Santa Cruz, California 95060 General Function The Personal Banker I position will provide an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This position is responsible for processing teller transactions as well as working as a member of the platform staff. The banker will help customers understand and address their financial needs, providing solutions that span the customer’s lifecycle using a consultative sales and service process. The banker is responsible for risk compliance, following policies and procedures, and driving a positive customer experience while operating within the bank’s risk appetite. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in a assigned book of business through proactive outreach efforts in person, over the phone, or other channels. Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice. Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered. Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customers’ needs met and all problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and other financial information to ensure customers are in appropriate solutions that align with their needs. Provide customer support needed to reinforce the value of current and new technology. Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected of every employee. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required High School Diploma/GED and 6 months customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships. Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication. Exhibits business acumen. Demonstrated ability in making sound decisions. Requires SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Working Conditions Normal office environment. Extending viewing of computer screens.
