As a diesel/CNG mechanic you can take pride in watching a truck roll out of the shop, knowing your local community will be supported by your hard work. You’ll be using modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on both diesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks. Key responsibilities Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns Conduct safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures Qualifications 2 years of relevant work experience Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Over 18 years of age Legally eligible to work in the United States Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical Desired personal attributes Team players who care about everyone in the shop Happy working independently and as part of a team Enjoy variety – every day provides a new challenge Determined problem solvers Work environment and physical demands Exert physical effort that includes frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constantly standing, walking, and grasping; occasionally sitting and balancing Expose to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc. Expose to physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements Operate in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity The expected base pay range for this on‑site position is $29-$36 per hour.
