Job Description Trustaff is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Birmingham, Alabama. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel MUST HAVE TO SUBMIT TO CLIENT: /nAL License or Compact License required /n1-2 Evaluations /n /nFacility Details: /n*If candidate worked permanently at facility in the past, $95 must wait 6 months before returning /n*If Candidate traveled with another agency - must wait 6 months before applying through Fastaff /n*RNs will have Continuing Education Modules they are responsible for keeping up on during assignment /n-Parking: Is signed up for during onboarding (orientation week) – it is paid by the traveler and ranges from $14 – $58.34 per month. Travelers are provided the contact information to sign up for their choice based on availability. /n-EMR: Cerner /n-Scrubs: Navy /n-Block scheduling Fri-Mon available upon request /n-Every other weekend is required if not working weekend block sched /n /nOrientation Details: /n-FDI will be sent to all travelers, regardless of new/renew/return no later than Fridays before their contract start date. /n /n-Email is titled Welcome to UAB and sometimes goes to the junk/spam folder for whatever reason. Please make sure your talent knows to check those folders as well. It will be sent from or Chasity Winston. /n /n*Orientation week schedule for those who are new or have not been at UAB in 11-12 months will be as follows; /n /nWednesday: work on modules onsite at computer lab noted in FDI /nThursday: pick up ID Badge and Parking Permit, reach out to manager for schedule if you have not received. /nFriday: 8a-12:30p - Impact Training onsite, Unit Orientation /n*Please make sure you use your company time sheet to keep up with hours completing HealthStreams, Impact Training, and Unit Orientation. The modules take between 6-8 hours of time. The computer class is 8 hours. Then you will be set up for two 12 hour unit orientation shifts. /n /n*Please send your first weeks’ time sheet no later than the 7 am Monday following your first week. /n /n /nPosition Details: /n-BLS, NRP required /n-Previous travel experience required /n-MINIMUM 2+ YEARS in NICU required (level 3 or 4) /n- Experience with oscillator vent, conventional vent, umbilical lines, hypothermia, neonatal /n- NICU takes transfers from all over the state and has the ability to go up to 130 beds /n- Accepts 21.5 weeks gestation and above /n- 120 babies on average /n- 40 rooms with 2-3 beds/babies per room /n- Ratios: 2:3-4 /n- 300-500 gram premies /n- vents & jet experience /n- they do have resp techs on hand /n-48 hrs/wk /n /nRNs will be assigned a home unit but may be asked to float. See below for details: /n-Home Unit is: Neonatal ICU /n /nNICU Details: /n-NICU RN’s can float to CCN (nursey step down) /n-CCN (nursey step down can float to RNICU (neonatal ICU) /n-babies still on Oxygen /n-ratio is 1:2-3 /n /nFloating expectation: /nThese unit based travelers would be expected to float to like units (if necessary), in rotation with UAB unit specific staff. There is a potential that rotation can be changed to ensure that each unit has an ANM/Charge nurse (shift leader) that is familiar with UAB. Trustaff Job ID #1675994.
