Position Overview

Desert Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team in Lynchburg, Virginia. Work Environment

This position is based onsite in our outpatient office located in Lynchburg, Virginia. You will work Monday through Friday, with possible availability on weekends, depending on patient needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pediatric screenings, evaluations, and diagnostics for children with various physical conditions using evidence-based therapies.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations, setting achievable goals and objectives tailored to each child's needs.
• Provide education and training to patients and their caregivers, empowering them with knowledge about the patient's conditions and therapy processes.
• Maintain comprehensive patient records with timely documentation in compliance with facility standards, including regulatory and department requirements.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including families, referring physicians, and healthcare staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants and aides in delivering therapeutic services, ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care.
• Engage in continual learning through various professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and solidify high clinical outcomes.
• Assist in operational tasks such as schedule management, supply orders, and maintaining clinical equipment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, your patient focus will be primarily on children, involving a broad array of physical therapy needs. You will collaborate closely with young patients facing mobility challenges, pain management, developmental delays, and post-surgical recovery. This specific focus necessitates not only clinical skills but also creativity and empathy in connecting with children and their families.

Qualifications

• Valid State Physical Therapist license to practice in Virginia.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in a pediatric healthcare setting, with a robust understanding of childhood physical therapy practices.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with diverse pediatric populations and familiarity with specialized pediatric physical therapy approaches.
• Ability to engage in physical activities such as lifting, manual dexterity, and moving around the therapy environment to support patient needs.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 50,000 to 75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
