Utility Worker I

Utility WorkerWe are seeking a dependable and hardworking Utility/Pack Area Worker to support daily operations in a manufacturing and packaging environment. The primary responsibilities include feeding bags into the pack line, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the pack and warehouse areas, assisting the pack crew with operational issues, and performing general utility duties as assigned.Principal ResponsibilitiesAssist the pack crew with startup activities.Feed bags into the pack line as required.Assist the pack crew with operational problems, including pulling bags off the line when necessary.Assist with pack repairs as required.Feed in rework at a productivity expectation of approximately 2 pallets per hour.Maintain sanitation in assigned areas by cleaning and feeding in bags.Sweep floors and keep the pack area clean and orderly.Keep the palletizer area clean.Take out trash from the pack area and warehouse daily.Complete assigned daily and weekly sanitation duties.Maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse and surrounding work areas.May be asked to clean outside grounds as needed.Complete forklift inspections daily and turn in required inspection documentation.Maintain required feed-in logs and provide written documentation of materials fed into the process.Document and maintain all required operational records.Complete required documentation, including IPM Work Orders, MSS sheets, and other assigned records.Communicate promptly when process problems occur that require immediate attention.Immediately report any near misses, injuries, incidents, or safety concerns to Plant Management.Understand and use basic computer operations, including Excel databases and email.Perform minor maintenance troubleshooting when needed.Assist the pack crew with other operational activities as directed.Perform additional reasonable duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Required QualificationsMinimum 1 year of relevant work experience.Dependable and reliable attendance.Willingness to work wherever needed.Ability to work safely and consistently in an industrial/manufacturing environment.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to speak and understand English.Ability to provide written communication regarding materials fed into the process.Basic computer skills, including understanding of Excel databases and email.Must have steel-toe boots.Ability to follow safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.Willingness to perform cleaning, sweeping, bag feeding, and general utility duties.Preferred/Relevant ExperienceExperience in any of the following areas may be helpful:PackagingManufacturingProductionWarehouseMaterial HandlingUtility workSanitationIndustrial cleaningPack line operationsGeneral laborForklift operationsBasic maintenance troubleshootingPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.Ability to sweep, clean, bend, reach, push, pull, and move materials as required.Ability to work in different areas based on operational needs.Employee BenefitsAt LanceSoft, full-time regular employees who work a minimum of 30 hours a week or more are entitled to the following benefits:Four options of medical InsuranceDental and Vision Insurance401k ContributionsCritical Illness InsuranceVoluntary Permanent Life InsuranceAccident InsuranceOther Employee PerksEEO EmployerLanceSoft is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and an equal-opportunity employer.
