San Juan Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager who brings together operational excellence, a talent for mentorship, and a commitment to team culture. The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary experience and a proven background in leadership, training, and team development—paired with a business‑minded approach to hospital growth. As our Hospital Manager, you’ll work closely with the Medical Director and leadership team, taking ownership of daily operations and guiding our hospital toward continued success. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership: Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, oversee payroll and financial operations, and drive business growth through data‑informed decisions. Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures. Strategic Direction: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute long‑term goals, expand services, and support referral and business partnerships. Project & Facility Management: Lead day‑to‑day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives. Client & Community Engagement: Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth. Team Leadership: Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Schedule, benefits and compensation This is a full‑time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs. Compensation: $59,000 - $65,000 annual base salary Bi‑annual bonus opportunities: Based on hospital performance Hiring bonus package: Up to $2,000 based on experience and credentials CE allowance: up to $1,000 based on credentials Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Uniform allowance Your Qualifications 5+ years of leadership, business management, or operations management experience required. Veterinary hospital management experience strongly preferred; medical, dental, or healthcare practice management experience also considered. Previous veterinary experience (e.g., Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or Client Service Representative) preferred. Bachelor’s degree, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Previous experience within a veterinary hospital preferred (e.g. veterinary technician or receptionist) including both large and small animal medicine CVPM or equivalent education preferred Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative and servant leadership approach Resilience and adeptness in handling emotionally charged situations. Proficiency in budget management. Experience with team training and supervision. Strong computer literacy and adaptability to new systems. Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
