Registered Nurse Operating Room ASC, Per Diem (Aurora)

Department: 08703 Dreyer ASC Co - Surgery Center: Surgical Suites. Status: Part time. Benefits Eligible: No. Hours Per Week: 0. Schedule Details/Additional Information: M-F 7a-3:30p (start and end times can vary based on surgical schedule). Pay Range: $35.50 - $53.25 Registry (PRN) Ambulatory Surgery Center Circulating RN M-F 7a-3:30p (start and end times can vary based on surgical schedule). Located in Aurora, IL. Position Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with agreement to enroll in a BSN completion program in two years to be completed in 5 years. Minimum of one year operating room experience (knowledge of scrubbing and circulating a plus). Current IL RN license. Current AHA CPR/BLS certification. May need to take call; ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts. Good communication, computer, time‑management and organizational skills. Good knowledge of patient care equipment. Acceptable to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; otherwise patient handling equipment and at least one other team member required. Possibly exposure to adverse, hazardous, or unpleasant conditions while caring for the sick. Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients. Ability to respond quickly to patient needs and work at a fast pace. Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster. Ability to transport objects, patients, and equipment. Education Addendum All sites: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Certification: CPR – Healthcare Provider ACLS and/or PALS within 1 year; immediate care ACLS and PALS – Ambulatory Surgical Center (Pre/Post/PACU) within 1 year; endoscopy, cardiology stress testing, oncology, etc. – site‑specific requirements. Registered Nurse: 2 years’ experience preferred (operating room 1 year previous OR experience required for PRN/Registry). Occupational Health: 1 to 2 years occupational health experience or new graduate with prior occupational health or related experience. Oncology: 1 year experience preferred. Endoscopy: 1 year telemetry or PACU experience preferred. Immediate Care: 1 year critical care or ED experience preferred.
