Medical Assistant - Per-Diem (Bridgewater, NJ)

It is a role where PA advertising is engaged in the planning, organization and execution of the training for a pediatric urgent care job. Summary Medical Assistant is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision and goals of PM Pediatrics. This role offers the opportunity to work as a pediatric medical assistant, applying skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assisting with primary patient care within scope of practice under physician’s direct supervision. Job Responsibilities Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients and office operations Greet and register patients as they arrive Obtain medical history, patient vital signs and intake Prepare patients for X‑rays Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures (venipuncture experience preferred) Irrigate and assist with wounds Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab Assist with patient care within scope of practice and be an integral part of the patient care team Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with adequate supplies and maintain order and cleanliness of the waiting area Practice standard safety practices and precautions Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying medical team (nurse, urgent care tech, physician) Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report needed changes to management Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential Enhance health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Assist patients with complaints and take an active role in service recovery when needed Perform other duties as needed, including applying splints and assisting the nurse and/or provider in other medical procedures Provide exceptional customer service Qualifications High school diploma or GED Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor Strong communications and organizational skills Prior pediatric experience Capable of multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office Suite Willing to learn medical software Experience with medical records preferred Compensation $18 - $26/hour. Salary range is provided to comply with local regulations and reflects a potential base salary for the role. Actual salaries may vary within this range based on experience and location.
