Position Overview: Chelsea Academy is seeking a highly motivated faculty member as a part time Instructional Aide to assist the Lower School (grades K-5) during the 2026-2027 Academic Year. Desired candidate should be a joyful disciple, have a knowledge and appreciation of Catholic intellectual tradition, classical and liberal arts pedagogy, a passion for educating and forming Christian youth, and a spirit of adventure. Important characteristics include competence in education, a focus on student learning, classroom management skills, ability to collaborate on a team, and enthusiasm. Teaching Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Assist with instruction in grades K-5, depending on the need each day
• Work with students individually or in small groups, to help them better understand classroom material
• Substitute teach for grades K-5 when a teacher is absent for illness or other reasons
• Work 25 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed to cover classes when teachers are out sick

Qualifications:

• Required: candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing
• Required: candidate must have a Bachelor's degree
• Candidate should have experience with classical Catholic liberal arts education

• Ability to develop and deliver effective lesson plans
• Ability to manage a classroom environment well
• Ability to relate well with students
• Ability to be flexible in a smaller school environment
• Willingness to work with classroom teachers to integrate the discipline within curriculum
