CDM Analyst - Revenue Integrity - Remote

Job Summary : The CDM (Charge Description Master) Analyst supports the maintenance and optimization of the Charge Description Master by analyzing charge codes, conducting data audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires residency in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, or Georgia and can be performed remotely. Responsibilities Review and analyze CDM data to ensure all charge codes are accurate, current, and compliant with industry standards and payer regulations. Conduct regular audits of charge codes, procedure codes, and pricing to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement. Assist in updating the CDM by adding, modifying, or deleting charge codes in line with regulatory changes or departmental requests. Document and communicate all CDM changes to relevant departments. Analyze charge capture processes to ensure services are accurately billed and correctly reflected in the CDM. Identify missing or incorrect charges, working with clinical and billing teams to resolve issues. Ensure all updates and modifications adhere to regulatory guidelines such as CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers. Monitor industry changes and payer updates to stay informed of new coding and billing requirements. Collaborate with clinical, billing, and coding departments to address charge capture issues and ensure proper usage of CDM codes. Act as a resource for staff on CDM-related inquiries and charge coding concerns. Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation and analysis as needed. Generate reports on CDM activity, including charge capture trends, audit results, and compliance metrics. Perform regular data quality checks to maintain integrity and accuracy of CDM-related data. Identify opportunities to improve charge capture processes and optimize revenue by analyzing CDM usage and patterns. Provide recommendations for enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of CDM-related operations. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare auditing, revenue integrity, or revenue cycle management. Minimum 2 years as a healthcare analyst with emphasis on chargemaster, revenue capture, charge auditing, reporting, and reimbursement. At least 3 years of experience in a hospital or professional setting with CPT‑4, HCPCS LevelII, and outpatient ICD‑10‑CM coding for multiple departments. Strong knowledge of CDM management, charge capture processes, and compliance with CMS and third‑party payer requirements. Minimum 2 years of Epic experience, especially managing work queues and charge capture functions. Education Minimum: Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, health information management, or a related field. Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in healthcare. Licenses & Certifications Preferred: AAPC or AHIMA credential, or Epic Certified. Skills & Abilities Knowledge of OPPS, Medicare, Medicaid, and third‑party billing guidelines; familiarity with CMS transmittals, manuals, and updates. Understanding of NUBC revenue codes, mapping structures, UB‑04 claim and payment remittance details. Knowledge of medical necessity determinations (CMS Local and National coverage). Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish relationships at all levels and work independently. Proficient in medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, ICD‑10, and revenue codes. Advanced spreadsheet, word processing, database, and Microsoft Office (Office365) skills; quick learner of new systems. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, solve problems, think creatively and analytically, and improve processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to produce reports, analyses, and presentations.
