Electrical and Control Systems Engineering Manager

Job Description

A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electrical & Control Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for plant electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, and controls. This role drives reliability, modernization, and safe operation across multiple production areas.

Requirements

Lead and develop electrical, controls, and automation engineering staff.
Oversee electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and automation systems.
Direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecture.
Approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning.
Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, IEEE standards.
Coordinate contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers.
Support reliability improvements, root‑cause analysis, and change management.
Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years in electrical, automation, or control systems engineering.
3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial networks.
Proven success leading engineering teams and projects.

Preferred

PE license.
Master’s degree in engineering or business.
Experience in industrial manufacturing or process industries.
PMP or automation/reliability certifications.
Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and Industry 4.0 technologies.
