Work Flexibility: HybridSenior Mechanical Engineer, R&DPortage, MIAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer on our Research & Development team, you will contribute to the design, development, and verification of orthopedic instrument products while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.Work Flexibility:Hybrid: candidates must reside within commuting distance of Portage, MI and be able to work onsite 4 days per week.What You Will DoDesign, develop, and verify mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for medical devices.Translate product and user requirements into engineering specifications and detailed mechanical designs.Create prototypes and conduct testing to evaluate product performance, functionality, and design feasibility.Analyze technical data and investigate design challenges to identify and implement engineering solutions.Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design records and technical reports, in accordance with regulatory requirements.Apply design control, risk management, and quality system requirements throughout the product development process.Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support project milestones and design reviews.Manage project priorities and engineering deliverables to support program timelines and development objectives.What You Will NeedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in product development, mechanical design, or a related field.Preferred QualificationsExperience creating engineering drawings and 3D models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software; Creo preferred.Experience working in the medical device industry or another regulated industry.Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.Familiarity with design controls, risk management, and product development documentation requirements.Experience supporting verification testing and technical analysis activities.$77,700 - $129,500 USD AnnualTravel Percentage: 20%Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
