Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Jurupa Valley, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment, diesel-powered machinery, and mobile equipment . This position is responsible for keeping construction equipment operating safely and efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and completing repairs both in the shop and in the field. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working around heavy equipment in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on heavy construction equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, and undercarriages .
• Inspect equipment and identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
• Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, belt replacements, and other routine maintenance.
• Repair and replace hydraulic hoses, fittings, pumps, cylinders, and other hydraulic components.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, batteries, starters, alternators, and wiring.
• Perform repairs on construction equipment both in the maintenance shop and at job sites.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
• Follow manufacturer maintenance schedules and equipment specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair needs with supervisors and operations personnel.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Equipment Experience:

Experience maintaining and repairing the following types of equipment is highly preferred:

• Excavators
• Loaders
• Skid steers
• Bulldozers
• Backhoes
• Forklifts
• Cranes
• Dump trucks
• Graders
• Compactors
• Water trucks
• Other heavy construction and mobile equipment

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Construction Equipment Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar position .
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with diesel engines and heavy construction equipment .
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on equipment needs.
• Must have your own basic mechanic hand tools.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to work outdoors and around heavy construction equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work around heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely work around operating construction equipment and machinery.
