Job Description

Entry-level TIG Tungsten Arc Welding Apprentice

1st shift 7am to 3:30om $19.00 to $22.00 2 years

Assisting senior fabricators, prepping metals, and learning precise arc control on thin metals like stainless steel or aluminum under close supervision.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Assist lead GTAW/TIG welders with production, assembly, and fit-up tasks.
Clean, grind, deburr, and bevel metal parts before and after the welding process.
Learn to set up and adjust TIG welding machines, shielding gas flows, and tungsten electrodes.
Practice making basic, sound root passes and welds on scrap or non-critical components.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to all OSHA and shop safety guidelines.

Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of (or active enrollment in) a vocational welding program.
Basic understanding of blueprint reading and shop math.
Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, and measuring devices (calipers).

Ability to pass a basic hands-on TIG entry test or visual acuity exam
