Dental Assistant – Correctional HealthThe Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery in a correctional facility by assisting the Dentist with exams, procedures, X-rays, documentation, sterilization, patient education, and clinic preparation. This role helps maintain a safe, clean, and secure dental environment while following all infection control, HIPAA, facility security, and correctional healthcare policies. Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting chairside, maintaining dental supplies, supporting patient scheduling and follow-up, documenting care in the approved system, and ensuring proper control of sharps, tools, and dental equipment. The Dental Assistant works under the supervision of the Dentist and collaborates with medical, nursing, and custody staff to provide timely, professional dental services to the inmate/resident population.Active Dental assistant license for the state of SC.
