Overview Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) – Orlando Health The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. This role collaborates closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary IR team to ensure safe, efficient procedures while maintaining Orlando Health’s standards of excellence. The IR RN is responsible for patient assessment, monitoring, medication administration, procedural support, and post-procedure recovery, while promoting safety, education, and compassionate care in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. Responsibilities Direct care for patients before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures Monitoring patient status and responding to emergent situations Assisting physicians during interventional and diagnostic IR procedures Maintaining sterile technique, equipment readiness, and accurate documentation Participating in on-call coverage as required Opening Summer 2026 at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL. Responsibilities and Qualifications Essential Functions Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment, therapies, high-intensity interventions, and vigilant nursing care. Uses assessment data to anticipate and respond to changing patient conditions. Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused action. Monitors specialized equipment (e.g., intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms) and interprets relevant displays. Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol. Assesses patient needs and develops an individualized plan of care; evaluates progress toward outcomes. Respects diversity and collaborates with the team and families. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Demonstrates age-appropriate care for patients served on the unit. Provides mentorship as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or nurse clinician as applicable. Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team to plan and manage the unit. Leads by example, supporting department goals and nursing practice standards. Demonstrates growth and development awareness across the lifespan and plans accordingly. Coordinates care and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate. Documents patient care accurately, including assessment, education, medications, treatments, and patient safety. Maintains compliance with policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Contributes to knowledge and quality improvement of healthcare practice and outcomes Participates in unit and organizational committees related to nursing practice and performance improvement Mentors and coaches peers; supports professional practice Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area Attends staff development in-services and meetings Partners with nursing leadership to identify professional development needs Assumes responsibility for ongoing professional development and continuing education Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education/Training Graduate of an approved nursing program Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department Licensure/Certification Current Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate license Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas (NRP for NICU) Experience 1 year experience required #J-18808-Ljbffr Orlando Health
