Take the lead in shaping middle school special education services as an onsite Evaluation Team Leader for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. In this vital position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, while championing the effective delivery of services for students in grades 6 to 8. Your efforts will directly impact both students and families, driving student success through collaborative and compliant special education processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure strict adherence to special education laws (M.G.L. 71B and 603 CMR 28.00) and maintain compliance on all assigned tasks.
- Liaise effectively among parents, students, principals, educators, and external agencies to support individualized education plans and services.
- Coordinate and facilitate the entire special education process for your assigned caseload, ensuring timely completion of all IEPs.
- Provide a reliable and professional point of contact for building leadership and the Bureau of Pupil Services.
- Attend professional development activities to stay current with best practices and regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
- MA certification as a Teacher for Students with Moderate Disabilities preferred; comparable DESE certification/licensure considered.
- At least three years of successful experience in public schools, preferably in special education or counseling roles.
- Professional expertise or coursework in areas like special education, guidance, or psychology.
- Effective communication skills and cultural competence to foster trust in a diverse community.
- Enthusiastic about supporting the specialized needs of young people and their families.
- Ability to pass a required drug screen, fingerprinting, and background/CORI check.
