Physical Therapist Assistant - Long-term Care/Rehab

Location: Rolla, Missouri

Start Date: 08-31-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 8-hour day shifts, 35 guaranteed weekly hours; no weekends or on-call required

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $41 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Physical Therapists to implement personalized care plans
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and balance training
• Assist patients with safe transfers from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas
• Educate families on effective at-home techniques to support recovery
• Track and document patient progress, reporting observations to the supervising PT
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming therapy environment
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling and paperwork

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
• At least 1 year of experience as a PTA
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings
• Ability to work 8-hour day shifts and commit to 35 hours per week
• A passion for helping patients of all ages achieve their goals

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise and balance training
• Patient care and rehabilitation principles
• Ability to follow instructions from a Physical Therapist accurately
• Excellent communication skills with patients and families
• Compassionate and patient approach to patient care
• Organizational skills for documentation and scheduling
