Overview Sentara Cardiology Specialists is now seeking a Full‑Time Echocardiographer. Position Status: Full‑time, Day Shift. Position Location: SMG Cardiology Spec Virginia Beach. Standard Working Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday. A $20,000 sign‑on bonus is available for all eligible candidates. Job Description An Echocardiographer, also known as a cardiac sonographer, specializes in performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the heart. These professionals work closely with cardiologists to evaluate heart structures, functions, and blood flow, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. The role includes performing two‑dimensional, Doppler, transesophageal, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities, completing the technologist report in the structured report application, and meeting accreditation requirements. Education Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines. Certification / Licensure Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS, RCS, or RDCS) obtained within 12 months of hire. BLS Certification obtained within 90 days of hire. Experience Related experience preferred.
