This internship provides hands-on experience in product development, process improvement, and project management while offering valuable exposure to a professional engineering team in a manufacturing environment. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects while receiving mentorship from experienced engineering professionals. Project assignments will be determined based on business priorities at the time of employment. Travel between Frankfort, IL, Chippewa Falls, WI and Troy, MI may be required.What You'll GainAs a Project Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to:Gain hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentApply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challengesWork alongside experienced engineers and business leadersDevelop project management and professional communication skillsParticipate in cost-reduction and process-improvement initiativesContribute to product development and validation activitiesBuild cross-functional collaboration skills by working with Manufacturing, Operations, and Engineering teamsDevelop technical documentation and engineering support experienceKey ResponsibilitiesParticipate in engineering projects focused on product design, design for manufacturing (DFM), and business growth initiativesAssist with research, data collection, analysis, and implementation activitiesSupport project planning, tracking, and execution effortsSupport engineering documentation activities, including validation testing, updating engineering drawings and work instructions, and maintaining engineering records and databasesOther duties and special projects as assignedQualificationsCompleted Sophomore year in an accredited Engineering University or Technical programMinimum cumulative GPA of 3.0Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointInterest or exposure to some of these areas: FEA, automotive, plastics, APQP, DOE, DVPRAbility to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.Demonstrates positive and friendly attitude in working with all levels within the organization.Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently, yet able to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentExperience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, CREO, CATIA or NX is a plusCompensation Information:$25-27 per hourITW is an equal opportunity employer.
